JUDAEA. Herodian Kings. Herod Philip (4 BC-AD 34). Æ 19mm (6.20 gm, 12h). Caesarea-Paneas, dated RY 16 (AD 12/3). KAICAPI [CEB]AC[TΩ], laureate head of Tiberius right; circular countermark containing Φ below chin / TETPAPXOY ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ, tetrastyle temple (the Augusteum) with pellet in pediment; L-I-ς (date) between columns. Hendin 1223. TJC 99. RPC 4942. For c/m: Howgego 690. Dark greek patina with earthen fields. An exceptional example, with a clear date and well-placed countermark. Choice Very Fine.
